A. Vernette Wright Wills of Farmington Hills, Michigan passed away suddenly on March 15, 2007.  Vern graduated from Booker T. Washington in the class of 1951 & attended LeMoyne College here in Memphis before moving to Chicago where she graduated  from  Chicago Teachers College.  She taught school in Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit before retiring in 1992.  

After retirement, she was very active in the Duplicate Bridge world, and dedicated a helping hand to various hospitals once a week in the Detroit area.

Vernette will be sorely missed by one daughter Sharyl Smith (Kirk) of Detroit, one step-daughter Karen Wills of Memphis, one son Erick Wills of Detroit;  two brothers -Wiley Wright  (Ernestine) of Chicago and Julian Wright  (Bettye) of Memphis;

 five dear grandchildren, six nieces & nephews, and a host of friends & relatives nationwide.

Services will be held  11:00 Tuesday March 20, 2007 at  Haley's Funeral Home in Southfield, Michigan.   248-356-4800
