PHIPPS, 65, of Memphis, passed away Friday, February 24, 2006 at Baptist
Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday,
March 1 at M. J. Edwards Whitehaven Chapel. Services will be at 11:30
a.m. Thursday at Bethel A.M.E. Church. He leaves his wife, Georgetta
Bland Phipps; his daughter, Teresa L. Jones of Sacramento, CA; two sons,
Kevin R. Phipps, Sr. of Memphis and Korey R. Phipps of Salisbury, MD;
his mother, Odessa Clark; five sisters, Verda "Polly" Phipps, Gloria J.
Duncan, Bobbie A. Dyson, Betty L. Burton, and Laura Ann Pounder; one
brother, Leroy Sommerset, Jr.; all of Memphis and five grandchildren,
Whitney N. Phipps, Diamond S. Taylor, Amensthy M. Phipps, Kevin R.
