Helen Beatrice (Warford) O'Neal, 1948

HELEN BEATRICE (WARFORD) O'NEAL, 74, departed this life, Monday July 25, 2005 at Saint Francis Hospital. She was the second of eight children born, October 25, 1930 to the late James and Clora (Reed) Warford. She confessed a hope in Christ, at an early age as a member of Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E. Brown, she later joined the Mt. Gilliam Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Eugene Bates and Pastor J. D. Jamerson, she served faithfully until she became ill. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1948 and was united in Holy matrimony, June 20, 1949 to the late Abram B. O'Neal, Jr. Loved ones that preceded her death were her mother, father, sister, (Hattie Joe Jackson) a husband, two daughters, Helen (O'Neal) Mosley and Brenda Joyce O'Neal. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Anita (O'Neal) Buckles and Patricia Faye O'Neal; two son-in-laws, Berkley Buckles Jr., Vernon Mosely, a step son Alvin McBride, a special son, Dan Benton; four grandsons; Patrick E. Benton, Berkley Buckles III, Travis and Robert O'Neal; four grand daughters, Tiffany, Renata O'Neal, Bridgett, Bernesha Buckles; one grand daughter in-law, Kelly Benton, four great grand daughters, Brionna, Alexiss, Nataiya and Jayla, two great grandsons, Tadarius and Marquez O'Neal; three sisters, Louise Iola and Charliss; three brothers, Arbis, Frank and Thomas (Tom) Warford; three sister-in-laws; Mary Elizabeth Warford, Barbara O'Neil, Beverly Warford; four brother-in-laws, Gatt Williams, George Jackson, Clinton Anderson and Herman O'Neil a step-mother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins friends and loved ones. Services will be Friday night August 5, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at teh Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church and Saturday the body will lie in state from 10 am. to 12 noon at the Mt. Gilliam M.B. Church, 1029 J.D. Jamerson St. (Raymond St.) Rev. Austin McCoy interim Pastor. Services at 12 noon with Rev. Keith Pendilton officiating.
