JIMMIE D. "J. T." TAYLOR,
71, of Memphis, died February 16, 2006 at Methodist University Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, February 20, at N. J. Ford &
Sons Funeral Home. Service will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, at
Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church. Pastor Gina M. Stewart of Christ
Missionary Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial in Elmwood
Cemetery. Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School,
attended LSU college, an army veteran, a member of Mississippi Boulevard
Christian Church, owner of J.T.'S.Lounge, and retired from Kellogg's. He
leaves two daughters, Harry Mae (Gregory) Conway, Melvia Taylor Hawkins;
three sons, Jimmie (Jettie) D. Taylor III, Herbert Steven (Angie)
Taylor, all of Memphis, and Kevin (Mary Ann) Taylor of Elkhart, IN; 13
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Lina
Hendricks, Beverly Streeter, and Ella Payne, all of Memphis;
brother-in-law, XL Blackshiers of Florissant, MO; and a special friend,
