MAGGIE LYNOM PEACE, 80, of Memphis, retired teacher
for Ford Road Elementary School, died Friday, February 10, 2006 at St.
Francis Hospital. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the
funeral home and from 9-11 a.m. Friday at Metropolitan Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 17 at Metropolitan Baptist
Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. She was a graduate of Booker T.
Washington High School (Class Of '43) also attended Alabama State and
LeMoyne-Owen College. She was vice-president of Peace Realty, past
president of Memphis Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and a
member of The Tennessee Arts Commission, Rebecca's Club, Theater Memphis
Board of Directors, President's Council of Southwestern at Memphis and
Opera Memphis. Mrs. Peace, the wife of Rev. Samuel Peace, Sr., also
leaves three daughters, Shirley Peace Cobbins, Sharon M. Peace and
Shelia Ann Peace; two sons, Rev. Samuel M. Peace, Jr. and Moses J.
Peace, seven grandchildren; Donnell Jr., Darrell, Marlon, Mark, Samuel
III, Ocie Belle Marie, Gabriella; two great-grandchildren, Donnell III
