Hendersonville - ODESSA COLLINS LANE, formerly of Memphis, was called back into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, May 10, 2007 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was a 1961 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis. Odessa was a faithful member of Faith Is The Victory Church in Nashville, TN, pastored by Charles Cowan. Odessa is survived by her husband Malchus Lane, children, Vivi Johnson, Malchus Lane, Jr. and Tamale Lane; sisters, Berry Coleman and Jill Burton of Memphis and Dr. Margaret Singleton of Missouri; brothers, Dr. Bobby Collins of Memphis and Walter Collins of Missouri; and 11 grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled Wednesday, May 16, from 5-7 p.m. at Phillip Robinson Funeral Home, Nashville and from 1-2 p.m., Thursday, May 17, at Faith Is The Victory Church, 3344 Walton Lane, Nashville. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Graveside services and burial will be held at Noon, Saturday, May 19 in New Park Cemetery on Horn Lake Road in Memphis with Pastor Dennis A. Westbrook of Greater Deliverance Church officiating.
