RUTH ANN RIVERS, 60,
passed away March 12, 2007 at Methodist University Hospital. She was
an employee of Cummins Diesel Recon, a member of Union Progressive
Missionary Baptist Church, and a 1964 graduate of Booker T.
Washington High School. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12 Noon,
Saturday, March 17 at Neighborhood Christian Center, 785 Jackson
Ave. Funeral service will follow at 12 Noon with Rev. James Fair
officiating. Interment will be in Memphis Memory Gardens. She is the
widow of Eddie "Lil Rip" Rivers. She also leaves her mother and
stepfather, Geneva and Murphy Allen; one daughter, Saundra "China
Doll" Rivers Moore (Steve); six sisters, Jacqueline Nesbitt, Lois
Johnson, Elaine Allen, Michelle Allen, Janet Allen, Eulitha Nesbitt;
four brothers, William Nesbitt, Grady "Sugar" Harrison (Cassandra),
Larry Allen and Reginald Allen (Gwendolyn). She was preceded in
death by one brother, Corneilous Allen. She also leaves four
grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews,
and other relatives and friends.
